Rebecca Sanders was born and raised in the Texas Panhandle and had excellent music and choral teachers throughout her school days. During college, her musicianship and teaching matured through her involvement with the Amarillo Opera both as a chorus member and youth mentor and through touring and soloing with various collegiate and church choirs. Mrs Sanders has also been deeply involved in various music ministries through singing with the parish choirs and directing children's church choirs wherever she resides.
Rebecca holds a degree in Music Studies (Choral Emphasis) from the University of Texas. After sharing general and choral music with elementary and middle school students in the classroom for three years, she began teaching piano and voice privately at the Northwest School of Music in Austin. She currently teaches exclusively from home in Alabama so that she can be with her children.
Currently, Rebecca proudly resides in Brundidge, Alabama, "home of the Peanut Festival", and she remains active in the music ministry in her church in Troy. She served as Interim Director for the Montgomery Youth Chorale and sang with the distinguished Montgomery Chorale for several seasons.
She enjoys singing with her 4 year old daughter and 6 month old son each day, and she hopes to start a community music class for young children in the near future. In her spare time, she is designing and recording a music program called "Lifted Voices...Lifted Hearts" for early childhood.
